Claudette ABELA-FORMANEK

Claudette Abela-Formanek is Assoc. Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of the Cataract Unit at the Department of Ophthalmology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Her surgical expertise includes cataract surgery including intraocular refractive surgery, as well as secondary IOL Implantation, anterior segment reconstruction and retinal surgery. Her main research interests are in the field of IOL biocompatibility, presbyopia correcting IOLs and secondary lens implantation. She is currently a member of the Programme Committee of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) and a member of the Cataract Committee of the Austrian Ophthalmological Society.
