
Miss Artemis Matsou is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery, serving as the Cataract Lead at Queen Victoria Hospital at East Grinstead, a leading tertiary referral center. She is skilled in complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation techniques for the full range of corneal diseases, refractive surgery, dry eye syndrome and ocular surface disease.
Miss Matsou holds the FEBOS-CR accreditation from the European Board of Ophthalmology. She has completed two corneal fellowships at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, and is both a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of London.
She serves as a Committee member in the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), a Council Member of the UK Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association (MCLOSA) and a member of the Cornea Operating Committee of the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO). She was recently elected as a member of the International Intraocular Implant Club (IIIC).
Miss Matsou serves on the editorial advisory board for ophthalmology journals and has authored numerous peer-reviewed studies, including research on endothelial corneal transplant techniques.
